Here at Horizon we have no need to over specify the specification so our vehicles. It is our policy to state such items and maximum user weight, maximum range etc., at a level that will give the best user experience and the longest life.

It is common with other makes that their specifications give the highest user weight that can be safely carried. This means that performance is much reduced if you are over 65% of the stated weight. You will notice this going up hills, with the scooter slowing down significantly. Just test them to find out, or perhaps your experience with them has. It should be that if you state a vehicle has a maximum user weight, then everything should be stated for people of that weight. Range, climb gradient, etc., this would ensure that the figures given are true. Horizon does not state a range, not because you cannot, but we as you to tell us how far you want to go, and over what terrain, we will then offer you a scooter that we state will do this. Why? I hear you ask, well, our scooters have options of the largest batteries on any scooter at 2 x 125amp hour.

Another major factor to consider is the disclaimers, you will find them everywhere but one of the most significant is. "Not to be used in wet, damp or misty conditions". What good is this in the UK, we have more days with one of these that we do without. What happens if you use one on these days, well possibly nothing, but it does say it could prove dangerous. It also, and importantly says that it could affect your warranty. Why, if you sell something to be used outdoors in the UK do you not make it suitable for our weather, we do. The Horizon mobility buggies do not have any weather disclaimers affecting warranty etc. Our vehicles are built to play happily in the rain and snow.

SAXON- The lightest duty 8mph scooter built by Horizon Mobility. Still on the same monocoque steel chassis., with high ground clearance, it is meant as a shopping scooter. With a power and performance higher than most from other manufacturers, this scooter is worth consideration.
